My Story

Born and raised on the sunny shores of Panama City, FL, I discovered my passion for music and art at a young age. It was as natural as playing with my battery-operated toy panda that had drums in the small church my father built. While most children used coloring books, I saw the blank inside covers as a canvas for imaginative drawings and doodles. This creative exploration shaped my path as an artist in publishing. At 11, my artwork was featured in the most-read children's magazine in the US, Highlights for Children Magazine.
As a teenager, I learned to play the tenor saxophone and joined the Steel Breeze steel drum band—my skills and showmanship as a flashy drum major at A. Crawford Mosley high school captivated crowds during halftime shows, thanks to my mentorship and training with the prestigious Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps.
After graduating from Florida A&M University, I pursued a career in graphic design and eventually became a creative director in the corporate world. However, my love for music returned me to the spotlight as I started performing internationally at special events, concerts, and conferences. I took on roles as a lead singer and band director for various party bands, music teams, and choirs. Additionally, I had the honor of opening for renowned best-selling authors and speakers such as Jean Houston, Les Brown, and Iyanla Vanzant. I realized a rewarding reconnection to my "inner child" by teaching enrichment classes (drumming and dance) in schools and producing virtual learning classes for underserved students.
Since performing at that stage, I became a songwriter and recorded my first self-produced EP, "Letting Go." This world-fusion pop project is all about self-liberation.
As a multi-faceted person, I faced identity challenges around my true passions and how I "should" appear in the world.
In 2020 during the pandemic, I took a leap of faith to move cross country to become the PR & Digital Marketing Manager for St. Joseph Center in Los Angeles, CA. I managed and built a diverse media marketing team who elevated the digital footprint of St. Joseph Center during its 45th Anniversary. With the help of stars like Martin Sheen, Helen Hunt, Jimmy Kimmel, and Molly McNearney, SJC generated a record-breaking increase in funding. Today, St. Joseph Center is recognized as one of the leading wrap-around service providers, helping thousands of low-income individuals, children, and families experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.
As CEO of Ty Andrews Productions, I lead a multi-faceted company specializing in marketing consulting, music, and video production services.

"So, What do you do?"
As a multi-faceted person, I never knew what to call myself when people asked, "What do you do?" I faced identity challenges around my true passions and how I "should" appear. In my 15 years working in advertising and creative arts, I have learned that authenticity and compassion are vital in moving mountains. Marketing is more than a logo. Building trust with real people requires sharing solutions when others don't feel heard. I’m passionate and grateful about using my talents to help others find their voice that impacts the masses.
