The Truth is Enough.

I traded Christmas cookies for a custom batch of chicken soup and cough syrup this year. Not the holiday festivities I had planned, but lounging in pajamas all day is peace on earth. I dropped "doom scrolling" on social media for some quiet time and a much-needed digital detox. It’s amazing what you hear when you finally turn off the noise and listen to your body. It’s given me some much-needed time to sit with where I am and where I’m headed.
Social media likes things short, but I wanted to make sure the full message got through. No barriers, no links to buy anything—just a moment of gratitude and a look toward what’s next. I’m looking at 2026 as a blank canvas, and I want to know what you want to see from me. No filters, no sales—just what resonates with you.

Sometimes you have to stop creating content and start creating a recovery.
I wasn’t just lounging, I called on my ancestors and went into self-care and recovery mode.
To me, food is medicine. After decades of living with a compromised immune system, I've been humbled enough to learn that your health is your true wealth, not the amount of money in your bank account. You simply can't show up end the world, or spend your fortune if you're dead.
It doesn't matter how high you've climbed or how successful you think you are, we all get that same nagging whisper toward the end of December: 'Get your shit together.' My advice? Pause. Start where you are and be mindful about what you put in your body. Go organic if your budget allows. If not, know what you are putting in your body and scrub your produce like your life depends on it. Because it does.
For those asking how I got through the week, here is the "unfiltered" blueprint for the custom batch that got me right, along with simple rest:
Ty Chicken Soup
Ingredients: Chicken thighs, Chicken Broth (or Water), Carrots, Onion, Celery, Fresh Garlic, Ginger, Fresh Parsley, Salt & Pepper, (noodles or rice optional)
The "Heal" Trio: Fresh Ginger, Turmeric, and 2 Bay Leaves.
The Method: Throw it all in a large pot. Bring it to a boil, then turn the heat down low. Let it simmer on low for at least 1 to 1.5 hours. You want the chicken falling off the bone (or you can shred it when tender). Let the ginger/turmeric to really infuse the broth.
Kick-Ass Cough Syrup (Hand-Strained)
Fresh Ginger & Fresh Garlic (grated)
Red Onion (grated)
Dash of Cayenne & Ceylon Cinnamon
Juice of 2 Lemons or Limes
Raw Unfiltered Honey (Local is best)
Cover it all with raw unfiltered honey in glass mason jar, let it sit in cool dark space for up to 24 hours, strain and refrigerate for 1-4 weeks. I prefer to use a wooden spoon when stirring honey to keep the enzymes intact.
Bonus: I take multivitamins and one full dropper of oil of oregano with an 8oz glass of water. daily in 2 week intervals. Sometimes I use it on my toothbrush as well.
